From time to time, I feel the need for some hands-on experience with new software technologies, or I simply enjoy developing some piece of software after longer periods of theoretic work. Due to time restrictions, only a very small fraction of the results makes it to a state that I deem to be mature enough to be released to the public: these results are presented here.
- PhotoFlux is a location-based photo browser application for Google's Android platform for mobile devices. With PhotoFlux for Android you can display geocoded photos from Flickr taken in a certain geographic area by selecting an area of interest on a map, and then browse the corresponding stream (flux) of photos.
- Panosalado Viewer is a Flash-based panorama image viewer. It is based on Panosalado, originally developed by Zephyr Renner and Michael Rondinelli, which was released under the GNU General Public License (GPL). I made some smaller extensions to it, which I make available on this web page.
- Panodroid is an interactive panorama image viewer for Google's Android platform targeted at smart phones and tablets. It displays equirectangular panorama images (360 deg x 180 deg spherical panoramas) hosted at Flickr, local images stored on the device, or from any user-defined URL. The user can rotate the view by 360 degrees horizontally and 180 degrees vertically. Panodroid supports kinetic rotation and tag-based image queries. It can also act as generic panorama image viewer for other third-party apps (see developer information below).
